Hyperrealism is a specialist form of permanent makeup designed to recreate the appearance of real brow hair.

Real hairs change direction. They cross. Some are finer than others. Density changes throughout the brow.

Hyperrealism at my clinic is machine-only.
I don’t use a microblading blade to create the strokes.
Instead, pigment is implanted using an ultra-fine needle and digital machine, allowing me to gradually build delicate individual hair strokes.
Powder brows create more of a softly shaded, makeup-style finish.
Hyperrealism is different.
It’s for the client whose priority is seeing the appearance of individual brow hairs rather than a filled-in brow.
Neither technique is universally better.
They create different looks.

Hyperrealism can be suitable for naturally fine or sparse brows, overplucked brows, thinning brows, changes around menopause and ageing, men experiencing brow thinning and some clients affected by alopecia or medical hair loss, subject to individual suitability.
It can also be perfect for someone who already has reasonable brows but simply wants better shape, fullness and definition.
And because the aim is realism rather than a makeup effect, it’s particularly beautiful for people who want their brows to look great without makeup.
We start by talking.
What you like. What you don’t like. What you normally do with your brows and, just as importantly, what you absolutely don’t want.
I then study your natural brow growth, features and facial symmetry before designing your brows.
Only when we’re both happy do we begin.
Your Hyperrealism strokes are then gradually built throughout the appointment.
I allocate approximately 3–3.5 hours and see only one full Hyperrealism client per day.
This is a cosmetic tattoo, but the technique is delicate and uses a tiny needle.
Numbing is used to help keep you comfortable.
Everyone’s sensitivity is different, but many clients are surprised by how manageable they find the treatment.
Immediately after treatment your brows will appear stronger and darker than the eventual healed result.
As the skin heals, they begin to soften.
Skin is a living canvas and doesn’t retain every implanted stroke identically, so the initial treatment lays the foundation of your brows.
Your refinement/top-up is normally carried out at approximately 6–12 weeks.
Once the skin is fully healed, I can assess what has retained and add or reinforce strokes where required.
Refinement/top-up appointments are £99 per session.
Some clients may require more than one refinement depending on how their skin retains pigment. Any additional refinement sessions are also £99 per session.
Possibly, but I need to see it first.
Existing permanent makeup can affect what we’re able to create.
If the pigment is too dark, saturated or sits outside the shape we want, removal or lightening may be recommended before Hyperrealism.

There isn’t an arbitrary age limit for beautiful brows. Suitability depends much more on your individual skin, health and circumstances.
